Trekking in Tibet

Trekking in Tibet

Situated: South West Frontier of China
Altitude: Minimum 3500 to maximum 8,000meters
Trekking Regions: West, East and Central Tibet
When to Trek: April to November

Tibet (Autonomous region) is perhaps the only destination among the Himalayas that's not as known for its adventure circuits as the rest are. But do not underestimate these destinations as just another trans-Himalayan area of the Himalayas. There is much more to Tibet than Buddhism, monasteries and cold desert-like weather.

Climate & Trekking Season in Tibet

Tibet's high altitude and the atmosphere allow the sun's solar radiation to strike the earth with unusual intensity. To protect your eyes and skin, you'd better to bring the sunscreen, which with a sun protection factor of 15 and sunglasses are also useful. And lip creams and balms are also sold with SPF ratings, zinc, oxide creams provide 100% block out. Generally from April to October is the best season for trekking in Tibet. But it really depends on your route and a normal winter Tibet trekking schedule is quite comfortable, because in winter, the tourist rush is not much and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery freely.

Testimonials

Two weeks holiday in Nepal with Mission Eco-Trek

My wife and I took a 2 week tour in Nepal with Mission Eco-Trek in Feb 2011 and had a fantastic time. Mission Eco-Trek provided the very highest caliber guides and Ram Kumar (the proprietor) personally made sure that everything went smoothly. When storms caused our original flights to be cancelled and then cancelled for a second time, he graciously accommodated our changes at no extra cost. The cost was reasonable and the services provided were exceptional -even beyond what we had expected from the contract....
